The Excavation Process
To repair your water line, our plumbers may need to cut or dig a hole into
the ground above your water line to expose the damaged pipe. Once the
pipe is exposed and inspected, we can determine if the line needs to be
replaced or if it can be properly repaired. Once we are able to make this
determination for ourselves, we will discuss what options are available
with you. We do this so you can make an informed decision about the work
that is needed in order to solve your water line problems!
Costs Associated with Water Line Excavation
A couple different factors will affect the cost of a water line excavation
service. One is whether the line is buried under your lawn or under concrete.
Excavation is relatively inexpensive if the water supply line is under
your lawn, as digging into grass and dirt requires less manpower and fewer
tools. If your line is under concrete, we would need to use specialized
equipment to expose the pipes, which increases costs.
The second factor is the type of material used to refill the trench after
work is completed. The material we use will depend on the location of
the trench: if the trench was in your yard, we can generally backfill
with sod. If we can’t we may have to use compacted stone or sand
to refill a paved area.
Our knowledgeable Albany plumbers are the best in the business and will
help you understand what is needed to repair your water supply line and
keep it trouble free for years to come.
